MARGRET MASINDE (DOB 18.7.83)
Margaret was taken into care in 1997; she has completed secondary school and is now studying to be a secretary. Her sisters, Agnes and Caroline are also at Kanyawegi.

EDRIS OTIENO OLOO (DOB 30.8.83)
Edris joined us in Feb. 1999. He has completed secondary school, and has started at medical college, where he hopes to finish as a doctor He has an excellent singing voice and has also taken up art and French for which he also has a natural gift.

IRENE AKOTH (DOB 26.9.84)
Came into care in 1997. She has completed dressmaking course, and completed business studies. She has now begun the road to independace in dress-making business. We have purchased a sewing machine and equipment and rented a house for her to live. We will supervise her progress until we are satisfied she is ok.

AGNES MOYI (DOB 30.9.84)
Agnes also came into care in 97 and is in form four at Xaverian secondary school. Agnes's sisters are Margaret and Caroline

KENNEDY OCHIENG (DOB 26/11/84)
Kennedy joined us in December last year, after we found him living on the street. He is a likable young man and is at St. Marks Secondary school in form one. He is a help in the home, keeping the books up to date.

VICTOR OCHIENG (DOB 1.12.84)
Victor came to Kanyawegi with his three brothers Rastor, Thomas (Norman), and little Dan in November 1998. Victor had to care for his three brothers after his parents died. He is doing very well at school and is at St. Marks Secondary school in form one.

THOMAS OREGE (DOB 30.8.85)
Thomas joined us with his sister Beryl in February 1999. Thomas has just began two years training as a tailor at Y.M.C.A, where he also stays in the hostel

RASTOR OMONDI (DOB 10.8.86)
Rastor joined us with his brothers in November 1998. He is a very likeable boy, and is in standard eight at Kotetni. He is also the captain of our successful football team.

KEVIN ODUOR (DOB 1.12.86)
He joined us in August 1998 with his younger brother Erick. Kevin found it very difficult to settle from his almost street existence, but he is now our most improved child. The difference happened as soon as he knew he had a sponsor. Kevin is training to be a carpenter.

DOREEN ACHIENG (DOB 5/1/87)
After the death of her parents Doreen remain with an uncle and she could survive through selling porridge. Doreen joined us in May 1998 and she is progressing well in standard eight.

BERYL AKINYI OREGE (DOB 14.1.87)
Beryl joined with her brother Thomas in February 1999. Beryl is training to be a tailor at YMCA.

HARUN OTIENO (DOB 8.3.87)
He joined us in May 1998, and is at St. Marks Secondary school in form one. His sister Irene is also at the home

THOMAS NDARE (DOB 4.7.87)
Thomas joined us with his brother Michael in May 19998. Thomas, who is dyslexic, has now been able to join main stream school and is doing well in standard six at Kotetni.

TRUFENA ACHIENG (DOB 17/7/1987)
Joined us on 10/5/00. Trufena is learning at Kodiaga Primary in STD 6. Her Education life deteriorated due to hard life they were exposed to. She has shown interest in school

CAROLINE MASINDE (DOB 7.8.87)
Caroline joined her sisters, Margaret and Agnes at Kanyawegi in May 1998. She is a very academic girl and enjoys school. She is in form two at Kisumu Girls School.

JUNIOR OTIENO (DOB 10.10.87)
Junior joined us in October 1998 after his aunt also died. Junior, who had a Muslim upbringing, is a shy boy who enjoys T.V. And is an excellent goalkeeper and actor Junior is in std seven at Kotetni

HELEN ATIENO (DOB 30/12/87)
Helen joined us with her sister Jane in January 2001. They were both living with their disabled elder brother. Helen learns at kotetni in standard eight

THOMAS (NARMAN) OPIYO (DOB 1.9.88)
Thomas joined with his 3 brothers in November 1998. He is currently learning in standard seven at Kotetni.

ISABELLA MBOYA (DOB 28.10.88)
Isabella came to us after her grandmother died. She likes playing and dancing sometimes in her own "little world". She is learning in standard five at Kotetni.

ERIC OTIENO (DOB 1.12.88)

Eric came with his brother Kevin in August 1998. Although Eric is small he is very strong and enjoys most activities. He is learning in standard eight at Kodiaga, he is also our store man at the home.

GEOFRY ODUOR (DOB 20.1.89)
Geoffrey was at the only municipal orphanage and joined his brother Steven here in September 1998. He is always happy and keeps everyone amused. He is learning in standard seven at Kotetni primary School.

BEATRICE ATIENO (DOB 31.1.89)
She joined us from a local family in November 1998 and was living with her slightly older brother. She is a real character and goes to Kotetni School in standard five.

PEREZ ACHIENG (DOB 14.08.89) joined us through the children's department in Kisumu with her step brother Joshua in June 2001. Her mother died when she was eight and their step father had chased her away from the home, probably because the old man was going mad. Perez is learning at Kotetni in standard seven.

KEVIN (3) OCHIENG (DOB 1.9.89)
Kevin, half brother to Moses and Zacheria. We collected Kevin a week after receiving Moses and Zacheria in February 2000, we were unable to bear seeing and hearing his tears when he was parted from his brothers. Kevin is learning at Kotetni in standard five.

FRANK OCHIENG (DOB 12/10/89)He lost his mother while very young and his father in November 2000. Lived with his grandmother in constant fear for his life by his threatening uncle. This now happy and bright boy was very needy and frightened. Frank attends Kotetni in standard six.

TOBIAS OOKO OMOLO (DOB 1/12/89)He is a cousin of Quinta, Maxwell and Victor and had been on our waiting list for some time. He is in standard six at Kotetni and joined us in March 2001

GEORGE OGOLLA (DOB 4.11.89)
Another 'local' boy who is great fun and is at Kotetni in standard four joining Kanyawegi in January 1999

ZACHARIA OCHIENG (DOB 7.1.90)
He joined us in February 2000 with his brother Moses. 11 children from four different sets of parents had been left with one very old grandmother. Zacheria is learning at Kotetni in standard four.

JAMES ODHIAMBO (DOB 31.1.90)
He arrived with his brother Shadrack in January 1999. James is a very serious boy and learns in standard four at Kotetni.

MAXWELl ODHIAMBO (DOB 31/1/90)
Maxwell joined us with his brother victor in January 2001. He is learning in standard six at Kodiaga

JANE AWINO (DOB 20/3/90)
Jane joined us with her sister Helen in January 2001. They were both living with their disabled elder brother .she is learning at Kotetni in standard five.

SILAS OWITI (DOB 20/4/90)
He has a sister learning at Kodiaga Primary School (Trufena).
He is in STD six at Kodiaga School., and he joined us on 10/5/00

DOMONIC OPIR (20/4/90)Domonic joined us in January 2001 and is learning in standard four at Kotetni

JOSHUA OCHING (DOB 5.07.90) joined us through the children's department in Kisumu with his step sister Perez in June 2001. FREDERICK OTIENO (DOB 10/11/90) Had been on our waiting list since August 1998. He lived in a room 8 feet x 4 feet with his older brother and sister, three small cousins and his old grandmother. The grandmother tried to earn money for food by carrying luggage across the border of Kenya and Uganda. Fred is in standard three at Kotetni and joined us in March 2001.

MOSES OWITI (DOB 15/1/91)
Moses an abandoned child from infant age joined us on 25/5/2000.
He is very active and he is interested in school. Moses struggles at school and is in standard one at Kotetni.

SHADRACK AMOLLO (DOB 3.5.91)
Shadrack came with his brother James in January 1999, and is learning in standard four at Kotetni

MOSES OMONDI (30/5/91)
He joined us in Feb the year 2000 with his brother Zechariah. He is somehow dyslexic but has
managed to get to standard two at Kotetni primary school

LAMECK OTIENO (DOB 16/10/91)
Lameck joined us on the 27/9/00 through a social worker of Kisumu Hospital. He was staying with a distant relative after the death of his parents and his uncle. He is a small but very lively boy, and is learning in standard five at Kotetni

KEVIN (2) OTIENO OSUMO (DOB 11.11.91)
Kevin was sent to us by the children's department when his relatives tried to steal the land his parents left him. He joined us in June 1999 and is in std four at Kotetni

FRANCIS (1) ONYANGO (DOB 2/9/92)
Francis joined us on the 25th /5/2000.He found greater comfort from his fellow children at kanyawegi after staying in loneliness for along time. Francis is in standard three at Kotetni

VICTOR (2) OMONDI (DOB 2/9/92)
joined us with his brother Maxwel in January 2001. he is learning in standard two at Kotetni

VICTOR (3) ODHIAMBO (DOB 12.12.94)joined in August 2001 after his brother David, who was in our care, wrote to us explaining the plight of his youngest brother. Victor who is very lively and extreamly bright is in standard one at Kotetni.

QUINTER ESTER ATIENO (DOB 10/12/95)Quinter is the sister of Maxwell and Victor. At five years old when she joined us, she was really too small for us to look after, but she and us are doing very well. Quinter attends Kotetni in standard one.

JERRY OUMA Arrived in February 2002, Not sure when he was born so guessimated his age at 11. Attending Kotetni primary school in standard three.

Brother to Michael(2). 17 years. Attending motor mechanics training course. Arrived in February 2002

MICHAEL (2) OMONDI . Brother to Paul. 13 years. Attending Kotetni Primary School in standard six. Arrived in February 2002

STEVEN (2) 15 years. Education awaiting assessment.Arrived in February 2002

Quinta (2) AKINYI sister to Eunice. 10 years. Attending Kotetni Primary School in standard four. Arrived in February 2002

Eunice AUMA sister to Quinter (2). 13 years. Attending Kotetni Primary School in standard five. Arrived in February 2002

BOAZ OKOOLI who is 14, came to us through the children's department. He had been staying in the juvenile remand home, as there was nowhere else available. Arrived in June 2002. Boaz is learning in standard five at Kotetni.

Hezron OWITI who was born in May 1990, was taken to juvenile remand home after his
aunt who cared for him when his parents died was unable to help anymore. Arrived in June 2002 and is in standard six at Kotetni.

Jacinter ATIENO who was born in July 1990 had been staying with some distant relatives. She arrived in June 2002 and is in standard six at Kotetni.

Veronica AUMA Was born in February 1990 was being cared for by neighbors. She came to us in June 2002 and learns at Kotetni in standard seven.

MELODY AKINYI was born in January 1995 and came to us in June 2002 with her brother silas (2) Owiti. One will always find Quinter with Melody. She is learning at Kotetni in standard one.

BRIAN NANYENDO was born in March 1989 and came to us with his brother Duncan, and sister Rosalin in July 2002. Brian is very academic with the highest marks from the children who attend form one at St. Marks Secondary school.

DUNCAN OTIENO was born in August 1994 and learns at Kotetni in standard two. Duncan came to us with his sister Rosalin and brother Brian in July 2002.

ROSEALIN OKISA came to us in July 2002 with her brothers Brian and Duncan. She was born in December 1992 and learns at Kotetni in standard four.

WILLIAM OMONDI came to Kanyawegi in July 2003. He was born in October 1990 and attends Kotetni in standard four

ALICE AKILLO Was born in July 1989 and came to Kanyawegi in January 2003. Alice is learning at Kotetni in standard six.

JACOB OMONDI Joined Kanyawegi in January 2003. Jacob is now our youngest, born in April 1996. He is at Kotetni learning in the nursery

JOSIA ADERO came to us with his sister Rael in January 2003. Josia is at Kotetni in standard four and was born in December 1993

RAEL ATIENO came to us with her brother Josia in January 2003. Rael was born in April 1992 and learns at Kotetni in standard six

ELISHA EZIKIEL who we have given the birth date of October 1989, has never known his mother. His father (who has since died) left him to care for himself when he was around eight. He would do whatever work he could find so that he could eat. We found him when Rastor, one of our older boys, told us how Elisha was being beaten while looking after some cattle nearby. As he has never been to school, we are getting him trained in shoe making and bike repairs as well as teaching him some basics.

SILAS (2) OWITI, born around May 1991, who arrived with his young sister melody, were being helped by their older brother who would walk 5 miles to town every day to try to find work. He is extremely lively and writes in a very interesting and open way. Silas is learning at Kotetni in standard five

JOSEPH (1) OTIENO. Was born on the 21.12.86 and came to us in April 2003. Joseph is a very thoughtful young man and goes to St. Marks in Form 1

ISAIAH OWOUR Was born on the 15.1.90 and came to us in July 2003 with his two brothers - Timon and Joseph (2) and is learning in std. Four at Kotetni

JOSEPH (2) OTIENO, born on the 26.3.94 and joined us with his brothers Isaiah and Timon in July 2003. He is in std. Four at Kotetni

TIMON OKOTH, born 15.4.96 joined us in July 2003 with his brothers Isaiah and jOSEPH 2. Timon is learning in nursery.

SHADRACK (2) OMONDI Was born 21.5.90 and joined us with his two sisters Josephine and Sheila in July 2003. He is learning at Kotetni in std. 6

JOSEPHINE APIYO born 2.2.93 and came to the home in July 2003 with her brother, Shadrack and sister, Sheila. Josephine is learning at Kotetni in std. 2

SHEILA ADHIAMBO was born on the 26.6.97 and arrived with her brother Shadrack, and sister Josephine in July 2003. Sheila is learning at Kotetni in nursery class.

OKELLO JOHN DICKS was born on the 10.2.95 and arrived with his brother Alphonse in April 2003. he is learning at Kotetni in std. 2

ALPHONSE ELISHA NDIKO arrived with his brother Okello in April 2003, and was born on the 13.7.97 He is in Nursery at Kotetni
